The first ten of Dhul-Hijjah
No days are more beloved to Allah for good deeds than the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. The 9th is Arafah: fasting it expiates the past and coming year for non-pilgrims.
Ashura and Muharram
The 10th of Muharram (Ashura) marks Allah saving Musa from Pharaoh; fasting it expiates the past year, and fasting the 9th with it differs from those before us.
Mondays, Thursdays & white days
Beyond the seasons: the Prophet ﷺ fasted Mondays and Thursdays when deeds are presented to Allah, and the "white days" — the 13th, 14th and 15th of every lunar month.
