The gateway to Islam
The Shahada is the testimony: "Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah" — I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Saying it with belief is how a person enters Islam.
Two parts, one testimony
The first part means we worship Allah alone, with no partners. The second means we follow the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — believing what he taught and obeying what he commanded.
Living the Shahada
The Shahada is not just words: it shapes the whole life of a Muslim. Every prayer, fast and good deed flows from this testimony, and we repeat it daily in every tashahhud of Salah.
