The fifth pillar
Hajj is the pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Makkah during the month of Dhul-Hijjah. It is obligatory once in a lifetime for every Muslim who is physically and financially able.
The key rites
Pilgrims enter ihram, circle the Kaaba (tawaf), walk between Safa and Marwa (sa'i), stand at Arafah in supplication, spend nights at Muzdalifah and Mina, and stone the Jamarat.
A fresh start
The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever performs Hajj without obscenity or sin returns as pure as the day their mother gave birth to them. Standing at Arafah is the heart of Hajj.
