Unit: Salah Step by Step · Lesson 23 of 50 · study cards + quiz
Things that break prayer
Salah is invalidated by deliberate talking, laughing out loud, eating or drinking, excessive continuous movement, losing Wudu, turning away from the qiblah, and abandoning a pillar of the prayer.
Forgetting is forgiven
If you forget a rakah or make an honest mistake, the prayer is repaired with sujood as-sahw — two prostrations of forgetfulness — not invalidated. The deen is ease.
Guarding khushoo
Fidgeting, looking around and rushing rob the prayer of its soul. The Prophet ﷺ told the one who rushed: "Go back and pray, for you have not prayed" — pray with calmness in every position.
