🕌 Sujood & Tashahhud السُّجُود والتَّشَهُّد

Unit: Salah Step by Step · Lesson 22 of 50 · study cards + quiz
The closest position

Prostrate on seven parts: forehead with nose, both palms, both knees and the toes of both feet — saying "Subhana Rabbiyal-Aala". The servant is closest to Allah while in sujood, so increase in dua.

Between the two sujoods

Sit calmly between the two prostrations and say "Rabbighfir li" (My Lord, forgive me). Tranquility (tumaninah) in every position is a pillar of the prayer.

The tashahhud and salam

In the sitting, recite at-tahiyyat with the shahada, then the salawat Ibrahimiyyah on the Prophet ﷺ, make dua, and end the prayer with "As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah" to the right and left.
