What is Tajweed?

Tajweed is the set of rules that govern how the Holy Qur'an should be recited, giving every letter its correct articulation point (makhraj) and characteristics (sifaat). Learning Tajweed protects the reciter from mistakes and helps them recite the Qur'an as it was revealed.
