Unit: Quran & Revelation · Lesson 29 of 50 · study cards + quiz
Before you recite
Approach the Quran with Wudu, a clean place and a present heart. Begin with "Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim" then "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim".
Recite as it was revealed
Allah commands: "And recite the Quran with measured recitation" (73:4). Tajweed gives every letter its right — unhurried, beautiful and correct.
Listen and reflect
When the Quran is recited, listen attentively (7:204). Reflect on the meanings (tadabbur), for the Quran was revealed to be lived, not only heard.
