🌸 Manners of Speech & Greeting آدَاب الكَلَام والسَّلَام

Unit: Akhlaq & Manners · Lesson 41 of 50 · study cards + quiz
Speak good or stay silent

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent." A kind word is charity; backbiting and mocking are forbidden (49:11-12).

Spreading salam

"As-salamu alaykum" spreads love: the Prophet ﷺ said you will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another — so spread salam among yourselves.

Gentle even in disagreement

Allah told Musa and Harun to speak to Pharaoh with gentle words (20:44). If gentleness suits the worst of tyrants, how much more our family, teachers and friends?
