1. What we collect
Learning progress: stored on your device only
Your lesson completion, XP, streaks, memorized surahs, review schedule, whiteboard drawings and preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage. They stay on your device. We cannot read them, and they are never transmitted to MuslimLearn or to anyone else.
This also means: if you clear your browser data, the progress is gone. We provide a "Backup & Restore Progress" tool so you can save a copy yourself.
Anonymous usage statistics
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics service to count page views and understand which lessons are used. Where enabled, this collects no cookies and no personal data, and cannot identify you or a child. If we ever use a service that sets cookies, the site will ask for your consent first and will not load it unless you agree.
What we never collect
- Names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses — we have no sign-up form.
- Any information about a child's identity.
- Payment information — the site is free.
- Your recitations, drawings, or lesson answers.
2. Children's privacy
MuslimLearn is designed to be used by children, often alongside a parent or teacher. Because we operate no accounts and collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children of any age. Kids Mode further restricts the interface and is protected by a parent-set PIN stored only on the device.
Parents: if you believe any personal data has somehow reached us, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
3. Third-party services
- Quran recitation audio is streamed from public Quran audio archives when you press play. Your browser requests the audio file directly; this reveals your IP address to that provider, as any web request does.
- Fonts may be loaded from a public font provider.
- WhatsApp — if you choose to contact us via the WhatsApp link, your message and phone number are handled by WhatsApp under their own privacy policy.
- Hosting — our host processes standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability.
4. Cookies
MuslimLearn sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We use browser storage purely to remember your progress and settings on your own device. If an analytics provider that uses cookies is ever enabled, you will be asked to consent first, and declining will fully disable it.
5. Your rights
Because your data never leaves your device, you are already in complete control of it. You can export it, restore it, or erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data. There is no account for us to delete.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Material changes will be noted on the site.
